Sunday December 10th Fusion Mineral Paint Vintage Sleigh Painting Workshop  2pm -4:30pm. Class will be held at Heritage Mill Antiques and Designer Mall 1820 Spencer Mountain Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054. Aprons will be provided, but please wear paint friendly clothes. Bottled water and light snacks will be provided.

The Painted Cubbard  reserves the right to cancel a class 24 hours in advance if the class does not have at least two participants. Paid reservations will be honored at the next convenient date within 60 days, or refunded in full.

  • Class times vary  from 2-4 hours and Payment is due in full at time of registration to reserve your spot. Space is limited, taken on a first-come, first-paid basis.
  • Cancellations received less than 48 in advance of the start of class will result in forfeiture. So please double check dates before signing up. 
  • If you cancel at least 48 hours in advance, you will be able to take the class at a later date. You must do so within three months of the cancellation, subject to availability.

Vintage Sleigh Workshop- 2-4:30pm Class is $75.00 Everything is supplied.You will paint and stain a handmade vintage sleigh to decorate your house for Christmas or to give as a gift.You will learn advanced painting and staining techniques using Fusion Mineral Paint and Homestead House Products.You will use these new techniques you learn in class to customize your sleigh to your own personal style. You will learn to how to use Fusion Mineral Paint as Stain, Homestead House Milk Paint Stain sealed with Hemp Oil, New Homestead House Stain & Finishing Oil All In One, Layering Colors for distressing, and achieving a crackle finish by layering Fusion and Milk Paint along with heat. You will get to take sleigh home with you at end of class along with notes and supplies for future projects.

DIY Fall Decor Workshop- Everything is supplied, Rustic wood pumpkin to hang on front door or add stand and display on mantel, 3 different sizes and shapes of artificial pumpkins from Hobby Lobby. You can paint your Wood Pumpkins however you want. But I will teach you how to Drybrush, Whitewash, and to use Fusion Mineral Paint as a stain. I will provide Stencils so you can add Fall sayings to your signs as well. The artificial Pumpkins you will learn how to turn not so pretty craft pumpkins into beautiful heirloom centerpiece items you can use year after year. We will mix colors together, glaze, use waxes to create shading, and add real pumpkin stems. The techniques you learn in class painting your Fall Decor are great advanced furniture techniques you will use when trying to decide how to paint your next piece of furniture.

24″ Farmhouse Wall Clock Workshop- Everything is supplied, round wooden clock face and clock hands and mechanism to create a centre piece in your home. We’ll paint and distress the clock using Fusion Fresco, Black or Espresso Wax to create your desired look I suggest looking on Pinterest for inspiration before class.
While we are waiting on different stages of our Clock to dry we are going to create Texture Artwork on a 12×12 Canvas with a Stencil, Fusion Sandstone Texture, Paint, Metallics, Wax, and Glazes. You will leave with two masterpieces you can showcase in your home and advanced knowledge of products you keep reading about.

Private One on One Workshops- I do offer private one on one workshops in my workshop at home or in the classroom at Heritage Mill. Private Workshops can be for any of the above workshops or a Bring Your Own Piece. If you have a piece of furniture that you need help working on and can transport yourself. I will be happy to share my knowledge and teach you how to fix chipped veneer, patch hardware holes, hide the musty smell, etc. Pricing depends on what private workshop you decide on and workshop time. Basic Fusion 101 workshop- Introduces students new to Fusion™ Mineral Paint to the basics of layering colours and simple distressing on a piece they can take home. Class covers Why Fusion is So great to use. When to prep and why? How to tell what my piece was previously painted with. Can I paint metals, glass, laminate, and  plastics? What is Ultra Grip? What is drying time versus curing time? Do I need to use a primer? When do I need Tough Coat? Caring for Brushes. All supplies are provided.

You will learn several different painting techniques. You will paint and distress a Wooden Step Stool, paint a Ceramic Tile and learn to use Black Furniture Wax and Antiquing Tough Coat on accented areas. You will even learn how to do image transfers with Fusion Transfer Gel. Your will leave with a folder full of great notes and useful tips to refer back to for future projects along with all the goodies you painted in class.
