July Workshop  ~ Saturday July 15 ,2017 12-2pm Vintage Toolbox Herb Garden

I try to teach a workshop the 3rd Saturday of Every Month. Workshops change monthly, If the 3rd week of the month falls on a holiday weekend no workshop will be held. August Workshops will depend on attendance due to busy summer schedules and kids being out of school.Class will be held at Heritage Mill Antiques and designer Mall 1820 Spencer Mountain Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054. Aprons will be provided, but please wear paint friendly clothes. Bottled water and light snacks will be provided.

The Painted Cubbard  reserves the right to cancel a class 24 hours in advance if the class does not have at least two participants. Paid reservations will be honored at the next convenient date within 60 days, or refunded in full.

  • Class times vary  from 2-4 hours and Payment is due in full at time of registration to reserve your spot. Space is limited, taken on a first-come, first-paid basis.
  • Cancellations received less than 48 in advance of the start of class will result in forfeiture. So please double check dates before signing up. 
  • If you cancel at least 48 hours in advance, you will be able to take the class at a later date. You must do so within three months of the cancellation, subject to availability.

Description

Vintage Toolbox Herb Garden –  We will paint, stencil, distress your handmade Herb Toolbox with Fusion Mineral Paint and or Milk Paint Stain. You will learn wet sanding techniques, wax resistance distressing, stencilling, working with Milk Paint Stain. Start thinking about how you want your Herb box to look when finished. Everything is supplied. Handmade Herb Tool Box, containers for herbs, soil, herbs, plant markers. You will take home advanced knowledge of  Fusion Mineral Paint products as well as fresh herbs while cooking. You don’t have to have painting experience to take this class. This would be a great class to bring a friend for a girls day out. The image for the Vintage Toolbox Herb Garden is from a Blogger The Interior Frugalista. Our Herb boxes will be similar, but I don’t have photos yet so I thought this would give you an idea. Once I have photos I will change images so you can start planning what you want your to look like…..

 

24″ Farmhouse Wall Clock Workshop- Everything is supplied, round wooden clock face and clock hands and mechanism to create a centre piece in your home. We’ll paint and distress the clock using Fusion Fresco, Black or Espresso Wax to create your desired look I suggest looking on Pinterest for inspiration before class.
While we are waiting on different stages of our Clock to dry we are going to create Texture Artwork on a 12×12 Canvas with a Stencil, Fusion Sandstone Texture, Paint, Metallics, Wax, and Glazes. You will leave with two masterpieces you can showcase in your home and advanced knowledge of products you keep reading about.

Private One on One Workshops- I do offer private one on one workshops in my workshop at home or in the classroom at Heritage Mill. Private Workshops can be for any of the above workshops or a Bring Your Own Piece. If you have a piece of furniture that you need help working on and can transport yourself. I will be happy to share my knowledge and teach you how to fix chipped veneer, patch hardware holes, hide the musty smell, etc. Pricing depends on what private workshop you decide on and workshop time. Typical classes are 2-4 hours, but for Bring your own piece we may need longer or more than one class. Basic Fusion 101 workshop- Introduces students new to Fusion™ Mineral Paint to the basics of layering colours and simple distressing on a piece they can take home. Class covers Why Fusion is So great to use. When to prep and why? How to tell what my piece was previously painted with. Can I paint metals, glass, laminate, and  plastics? What is Ultra Grip? What is drying time versus curing time? Do I need to use a primer? When do I need Tough Coat? Caring for Brushes. All supplies are provided.

You will learn several different painting techniques. You will paint and distress a Wooden Step Stool, paint a Ceramic Tile and learn to use Black Furniture Wax and Antiquing Tough Coat on accented areas. You will even learn how to do image transfers with Fusion Transfer Gel. Your will leave with a folder full of great notes and useful tips to refer back to for future projects along with all the goodies you painted in class.
